Swingadelic

Swingadelic is a jazz/blues ensemble founded in 1998 in Hoboken, New Jersey by bassist Dave Post. Initially, the group played jump blues in the style of Louis Jordon, Big Joe Turner, and Louis Prima to cash in on the neo-swing craze, but by the early 2000s the band was maintaining a residency at Maxwell's in Hoboken as an eleven piece little big band. As the dance craze waned, the band kept busy with concerts, casual engagements, and recording.

Alto/tenor sax player Buddy Terry joined the group in 2000 and remained in the band until having a stroke in December 2010 when his duties were taken over by multi-reed player Audrey Welber. Other notables that have performed with Swingadelic are Eddie Gladden, Ronnie Cuber, Virgil Jones, Julio Fernandez, and Michael Hashim.

The band has performed from Maine to Atlanta at festivals including Bele Chere in Asheville, Sanofi-Aventis JazzFest, the Bethlehem MusikFest and Lincoln Centers Mid Summer Night Swing.
