Sarah Amial Morrow (born 1969) is an American jazz composer and trombonist.
Morrow was discovered by Ray Charles in 1995, and has worked with funk stars such as Bootsy Collins, Catfish Collins, and Fred Wesley. Morrow also has an active career as a solo artist.
Biography
Morrow was born in Houston, Texas in 1969. She is the daughter of John "Andy" Morrow. She studied the clarinet before taking up the trombone at the age of 12. She discovered jazz at the age of 17 in high school; after graduating from Ohio University she began to play in small jazz formations.
In 2007, she formed the group Elektric Air with Sam Barsh or Rober Glasper on piano and Fender Rhodes, Earl Travis or Derrick Hodge on bass, Nate Robinson or Chris Dave on drums and Jahi Sundance at the turntables.
